The Passing of the Seasons

This is a feature that captures an image from the cameras at the same point of each day and, over time, a time-lapse movie is created. Over time, a movie will be produced that shows the changing of the seasons.

These movies were started on different dates and as time passes, these movies will gradually grow longer and show more detail as to how things change over time.

Note that, over time, some of the cameras may change position due to differing points of interest or, possibly, a camera being moved or replaced.

The Noon Movies:

"Valley Cam"	This looks across the valley toward the west.
"Snowstick Cam"	The "Snowstick Cam". During the summer this camera may change positions.
"Snowstick2 Cam"	The second "Snowstick Cam." This camera looks at a snowstick on the north side of the cabin. During the summer, this camera may change positions.
"Cabin Cam"	This shows the cabin's west-looking face. This camera will shift position because it is attached to a tree.
"Northwest Cam"	The "Northwest Cam". This camera shifts its position because it is attached to a tree that is affected by snow - and it's growing!
The "North Cam"	This remotely-contrfile:///movie/snowstick-sunset.mpgolled camera looks to the north. Because this camera can be remotely-controlled, so it may not be looking at the same thing all of the time.
"Southwest Cam"	The "Southwest Cam" archive. *During the summer this is replaced by the "Hummingbird Cam*"
"Hummingbird Cam" archive	The "Hummingbird Cam". *During the winter this is replaced by the "Southwest Cam" and is not updated.*

Pictures from each of the cameras are used to build the "Noon Movie" as seen below. These pictures are taken at 12:00 Noon, local time.

The "noon" movies are usually updated by 12:15PM - just after noon.

The Sunset Movies:

"Valley Cam"	The "Valley Cam", showing the western horizon and the setting sun - when it is in view.
"Snowstick Cam"	The "Snowstick Cam". During the summer this camera may change positions.
"Snowstick2 Cam"	The second "Snowstick Cam." This camera looks at a snowstick on the north side of the cabin. During the summer, this camera may change positions.
"Cabin Cam"	This shows the cabin's west-looking face. This camera will shift position because it is attached to a tree.
"Northwest Cam"	The "Northwest Cam". This camera shifts its position because it is attached to a tree that is affected by snow - and it's growing!
"The North Cam"	This remotely-controlled camera looks to the north. Because this camera can be remotely-controlled, so it may not be looking at the same thing all of the time.

The pictures comprising these movies are taken every day a few minutes before sunset. Since the time of sunset changes over the course of the year, the time at which the picture is taken will also change - as will the position of the sun during the year.

The "sunset" movies are usually updated within an hour after sunset.

The Sunrise Movies:

The pictures comprising these movies are taken every day a few minutes after sunrise. Since the time of sunrise changes over the course of the year, the time at which the picture is taken will also change - as will the position of the sun during the year.

The "Sunrise" movies are usually updated within an hour after sunrise.

Important notes:

Occasionally, a picture will be out-of-sequence. This is usually the result of a power failure or something else that results in the picture not being retrieved at its normal time.
Clicking on a link should cause the movie to open in your browser. If it does not, click on the link or right-click to save it to your computer and use a media program to view it.
In some cases better playback results are obtained by saving and viewing it with a program such as "Media Player."
Some of the cameras may be used during the summer months for other purposes, such as the "Hummingbird Cam" and the "Snowstick Cam"
Other cameras/movies may be added in the future.
